I'm regretting not flying to Tacoma for my follow-up. I did not hear from Dr. Mayo today, and probably won't until at least Tuesday, when he is back in his office. I'm really disappointed. To have looked forward to this week for such a long time only to have to wait for who knows how much longer ... sigh.

I'm going to cancel my physical therapy tomorrow because I just don't think I should be starting when I haven't been given the green light to start weight bearing.

Today was also hard because I'm in more pain than I've had since about week 3. Sitting hurts! The drive was extremely uncomfortable, as was sitting at my desk at work. I'm mostly nervous that something is wrong. It's just strange that I was doing so well and gradually the pain has been getting worse.

I'll just feel better once I get the call and can talk some things over with Dr. Mayo.

Hang in there with the wait to takeoff form the doc, but remember sitting is an unnatural position for us humans in the first place so you are likely to be more uncomfortable at work since you just started back. This will get better once you get cleared for takeoff and start to build up the muscles again but it is good to get up and stretch. I still find sitting at a desk for long periods makes me sorer.

We are all out here sending you positive thoughts on your soon to be weight bearing recovery. Have a great, restful, non-sitting weekend and let us know just as soon as you hear from Dr. Mayo!
And just remember you could be back at week 3+ like me!!! My big celebration this week was getting to take off the TEDs at night. See how far you've come! :)

Oh wow, I can't believe you're back at work after 8 weeks, when you're still not weight bearing, and with an hour long commute! It sounds like you're doing amazingly, but I hope your go ahead for PT comes through soon! I rmember how glad I was to get in the pool and put my foot firmly on the floor of it!
